This experience was not exactly what my wife and I expected. The hero image of people eating at a round table during sunset in front of Uluru did not happen. We were picked up from ARR and taken into the National park (you have to also purchase a pass on top of what you pay to do this tour) and stopped at the sunset viewing area for drinks and nibbles while we watched Uluru change colours till the sun set. It was spectacular and many photos were taken! We then were transferred to another coach which took us further in to where we would have dinner. By this time it was getting dark and Uluru could hardly be seen. We were welcomed with drinks and allocated seats to one long table sitting with all of those who we were sharing the experience with. Everyone was friendly enough but it wasn’t the round table we thought it would be, my wife and I celebrating her 40th which I thought would be special if we had our own table. The dinner was your typical BBQ options, with roast veggies or salads. I’m easily pleased and enjoyed the grub. There was plenty of options for drinks too. After dinner one of the guides presented the star tour which I found fascinating as by this point in time we were completely in the dark under the stars. Apart from the misleading image, we did enjoy the whole experience.

What a fantastic experience! Uluru was just majestic and nature was at its best. The bbq dinner was a self serve buffet but the food was amazing. Long tables allowed people to chat and the star show was informative and local stories interesting. Definitely recommend

Advertised as 18.30 event , 15 min coach rise away , pick up was poorly communicated and was at 15.10. We missed this and we’re not even contacted. They would not answer phone , waited over half hour. Would not reschedule or even refund 50% . We did the hop on hop off trip instead , much cheaper , much better.

The actual tour once we were on it was a lovely experience, but DO NOT BOOK TOUR THROUGH VIATOR as there is no communication between AAT King/Viator to the consumer. We (there were another 2couples and 2 families with children doing a different tour that had also booked through Viator) had on our ticket /itinerary that pickup was 5pm for the tour, to be told when we to the pick up point which was just outside our hotel at 4.50pm that the bus had left 10mins ago! We were waiting and sitting in the foyer from 4.30pm! So disappointing! No email was sent to customers that bought tickets through Viator to inform them of updated pickup time & AAT King tour operator/bus driver no courtesy of contacting front of staff to ask, call out names nothing-terrible customer service & so disappointing. No email or text was sent to customers that bought tickets through Viator to inform them of updated times. AAT king had our names & contact details but no contact was made they just passed the blame to Viator & we had no way of contacting Viator on a Saturday night. So we had to go to AATKing counter the next day lucky we had an extra day to see if we could organise another tour or refund. We ended up having to split up with our friends we were travelling with & do a different tour each in order to not have to deal with trying to get a refund as AAT King said we would have to go through Viator (who are based in SanFrancisco). When I asked the AAT king customer service person how we were meant to know what time the bus was leaving as we didn’t receive an email or text-she had the gall to say “commonsense” to call -as though we were just meant to know the bus was leaving at 4.40pm not 5pm as was stated on our ticket! If booking any tours while in Uluṟu book directly with the company running the tour not a third party travel agency such as Viator as there is no recourse while you are there.

Organisation of transport was excellent, and the driver very informative and friendly. We found the dinner was okay but we expected more in terms of the food on offer and the entertainment. The group was very large so while it was efficient, the evening was less personal than we had expected.

Don't book with Viator. We booked directly with Viator. They are happy to take your money but don't give you the correct time for pick up. This tour is run by AAT Kings. We received no email to confirm pick up time. On the print out from Viator it states 5pm. So we as a group of 4 went to the departure point at 5.50pm only to be told bus already left at 4.40pm. If you would like to do this tour go direct and book with AAT Kings.

The sunset was absolutely magical. An absolutely perfect spot to enjoy a few drinks and nibbles watching the sunset. The staff were amazing and very accommodating. Drinks were flowing, very generous. When we were transferred to our location for dinner it took my breath away. Walking down the path with the illuminated lights was just an amazing feeling. Dinner was delicious, so much variety. If I could just ask two things * please invest in a couple of gas heaters. * staff rushed us a bit to take our plates. Over all fantastic night.

We wanted a dining experience at Uluṟu and upon enquiring were told we had to included the sunset tour at an extra cost to the dinner, this we were not happy with but we’re held to ransom and booked both. It had been raining the day of our tour which was 18/5/2022 and we enquired with the AAT Kings booking officer at around 2.30pm if this tour would be going ahead, she advised us that the dinner component had been cancelled but the sunset tour would still be continuing. The rain never let up and upon boarding the bus we were advised by Jess the bus driver that the dinner was cancelled but we would be still doing the sunset tour, how ridiculous as it was still raining. We drove out to where the staff of AAT Kings had set up drinks and canapés out in the rain, how ridiculous, it was cold and wet and surprise surprise there was no sign of a sunset, the last thing we wanted was cold drinks and soggy canapés so we got Jess the bus driver to open the bus which was the only place we could sit and be warm and dry. All the people on the bus were in agreement that this also should have been cancelled due to the wet weather. We have never been informed formally of the cancelled dinner nor any advice as to when we can expect our refund. Funny thing when you book the money is out of your account within minutes but to get a refund is a nightmare.
